How to view a 3MF file online
- Choose or drop a project .3mf file, or load the sample. The model is read in your browser.
- Rotate, zoom and pan to inspect the geometry. Reset view fits all currently visible objects into the preview.
- Use the object checkboxes and plate filter to choose what is visible. Read its combined dimensions, triangle count and object count.
What this preview can show
The viewer reads triangle meshes, component transforms and supported plate metadata using the same parser as 3MF to STL. It does not slice, repair meshes, apply slicer modifiers or reconstruct models from toolpaths. Check the original project in your slicer before printing.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded, and can I view them offline?
No file data is uploaded. Parsing and 3D rendering happen in your browser, with no account or ads. Local files also work offline after the page and its scripts have loaded. Loading a sample makes a request for a public sample on this site and needs a connection unless it is cached.
Which 3MF files and objects can I view?
Model and editable project 3MF files containing triangle meshes are supported, including Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer projects with external components and plate assignments. Each build item appears as an object; parts inside that item stay grouped. Select objects or filter by plate to change the preview and statistics. Beam lattices and meshless extensions are not displayed.
Does the 3MF viewer show the original colors?
No. Each object gets a display color to help distinguish it. Original materials, textures, painted regions and filament colors are not rendered. Use the original project in your slicer to inspect those details.
How is this different from a slicer?
This is a geometry viewer for rotation, size checks and triangle counts. It does not generate G-code, simulate printed layers, calculate print time, add supports, apply slicer modifiers or repair meshes. A preview does not guarantee that a model is printable; verify it in a slicer before printing.
Can I open a .gcode.3mf or a renamed sliced package?
Sliced .gcode.3mf files and archives containing G-code are blocked, even if renamed to .3mf or if they still contain preview meshes. Toolpaths cannot restore the original model. Save a project 3MF from the original editable Bambu Studio or Orca Slicer project.
What do the dimensions and unit notice mean?
Dimensions are the X × Y × Z bounding box of the currently visible objects, including the gaps between them, in millimeters. The shared 3MF parser converts supported non-millimeter units and shows a notice. Selecting one object measures that object; it is not a point-to-point measurement tool.
Is there a 3MF file size limit?
There is no fixed file-size or triangle-count cap for 3MF in this viewer. Available browser memory and graphics resources set the practical limit. Large or complex projects may take longer to parse or fail to display, especially on phones. Try a smaller project or a desktop slicer in that case.
